Cobalt builds autonomous security robots that keep buildings safe by combining the reliability of machines and the friendly face of human-in-the-loop “Robot Specialists”. Security costs US companies over $200B / year, and is a very difficult task for humans to perform because of long monotonous hours.
 
We have robots deployed to customers nationally and are an incredibly fast moving team - we went from nothing to shipping our first robots in 12 months! We are 35+ people now and we're looking for folks who are scrappy, collaborative, excited, and eager to share their knowledge and expertise with the rest of our team.
 
Sales Engineer

A Sales Engineer combines excellent interpersonal skills with great problem solving abilities and a technical background to ensure that demos, trade shows, and customer deployments go smoothly.
 

Your Goals

    • Educate potential customers about our product and build strong personal relationships at conferences, trade shows, demos, and on-site visits
    • Gain insights into current and potential customer needs, and communicate these to needs to product + marketing
    • Help run customer on-boarding events, be the face of the engineering team behind the robots, and manage customer happiness and expectations
    • Solve technical problems in high stakes and time constrained situations
    • Establish a presence in the geography by managing day to day operations and assist Sales with demos

Your Experience

    • BS or MS in CS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
    • 2+ year of industry experience in a client facing role
    • Familiarity with Python
    • Familiarity with the Linux command line
    • Comfortable with solving technical problems in a high intensity situation
    • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and understand complex systems
    • Regularly interact well with clients and partners

Bonus Points

    • Experience working in technical sales or customer success
    • Familiarity with networking technology
    • Experience working for a startup
