Position Overview:

Nearpod is currently experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. As an Accounting Manager you will be responsible for GAAP reporting and technical accounting matters. This includes account reconciliations, monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting research. This position will have a critical role in the year-end audit, and reports to the Sr. Director of Accounting and Tax.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare various monthly balance sheet reconciliations 

  • Review and explain B/S and P/L fluctuations

  • Research technical accounting issues and draft related accounting memos

  • Document accounting policies and procedures as needed 

  • Prepare ad hoc analysis as requested 

  • Prepare financials and reporting packages

  • Prepare/review year-end account reconciliations and documentation for the audit 

  • Prepare supporting schedules for the tax return preparation

  • Assist and supervise team members as needed


Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master ‘s degree in Accounting required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting 

  • Public accounting experience preferred

  • CPA preferred

  • Netsuite or similar ERP system experience

  • Advanced Excel skills a must

  • Strong understanding of GAAP

  • Ability to research technical accounting issues/draft accounting memos

  • Strong written and oral communication skills required

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Tax experience a plus
