What You’ll Do:

Although we’re proud of our history, we’re just as excited about the future! We want to create a world-class culture that attracts, develops, engages and retains the nation’s elite talent. To do this, we’re looking to add a Database Engineer to our Technical Operations team. Your priority is to help evolve our backend data sources to scale to 1M users. Using your technical expertise, you will focus on maintaining, growing, and improving SalesLoft’s database infrastructure and instrumentation. We are mostly a Postgres shop, but we’re more interested in fundamentals than experience with a particular tool.


  • Support SalesLoft’s datastore infrastructure, comprised of multi-node Citus DB clusters, traditional PostgreSQL and Redis
  • Explore new database technologies and present recommendations
  • Design and consult with product development on logical and physical database schemas
  • Work with other operations and development teams to implement technologies to support our current and future products
  • Ensure we have the proper monitoring and alerting in place
  • Be a go-to person for any Database related questions
  • Participate in production on-call rotation for Database related issues


  • 5+ years of experience as a database administrator or engineer
  • Experience working in a Linux-based environment
  • Extensive experience administering and growing database infrastructure
  • In-depth knowledge of Relational Database architecture
  • Strong attention to detail and care about quality and testing
  • Self-driven, autonomous and can contribute to the strategy and roadmap of the team
  • The desire to support and mentor engineers across the company in database best practices

Bonus points if you have:

  • In-depth knowledge of Postgres
  • Familiarity with Data Warehouse solutions & concepts
  • Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS or GCP
  • Experience running databases on Kubernetes
  • Experience working in a Citus database
